In response to HSBC's Q1 results, Simon Chouffot, spokesperson for the Robin Hood Tax campaign, said:
“HSBC's profits may be up, but its reputation is down. It’s shocking that six years after the crisis HSBC and other banks are still so tarnished by their bad behaviour.
“A softly softly approach to the City has delivered us crisis after scam after scandal. It's high time we get a grip on our wayward financial sector and ensure it makes a greater contribution to the UK."
